So just who is this industry leader and innovator? Born in Mozambique, Carlos Jardino was raised in South Africa where he studied and qualified as a Mechanical Engineer. He was hired by a large multi-national Swiss company specializing in electrical infrastructure and the building of transformers all around the world. Carlos was trained up under this organization as a trouble-shooter to oversee and streamline the company’s numerous factory operations.

“My knowledge of mechanical engineering was extremely beneficial,” recalls Carlos, “but I didn’t find that end of it particularly inspiring for me. It wasn’t until I had learned and grasped the consulting and troubleshooting aspects of business that it started sinking in. Time management and planning, are two of the biggest factors that make a company run like a well-oiled machine. However when planning is done inefficiently or neglected, business grinds to a halt."

“When you’re a company building custom transformers for every market around the world,” says Carlos, “time management and planning becomes even more crucial and challenging.”

The different regulations and climate of each country demanded that every transformer had to be customized. Carlos’ intuitive abilities helped the company standardize 80% of the transformers’ parts which resulted in only 20% that had to be customized. His forethought and skill resulted in a more efficient and cost effective operation.

Carlos modestly states, “It’s not about reinventing the wheel; it’s about changing the way it works.”

It is this philosophy that Carlos has applied to his company, PCM, Project & Construction Management Inc. where his passion and vision is now focused on building luxury custom homes.
